In 2014 Olek Witt captivated the audience with his production "Und der Regen rinnt..." (And the rain is falling...) in Friedrichshafen. The performance, based on documents and the story of The Girls of Room 28, was the result of a theatre-education workshop with young teachers in Meckenbeuren.
Olek's profound occupation with the story, his sensibility and responsibilty towards the topic, resulted in a thrilling and pioneering production. Instead of depicting the inhumane situation of the ghetto-inmates and their contemptuos oppressors, the scenes which unfolded in front of the audience brought the most essential aspects of the story of these girls on stage: the powers of creativity, phantasy, music and dance - moments of spiritual resistance.
