to US Universities and Cultural institutions
We wish to draw your attention to our international exhibition The Girls of Room 28, L 410, Theresienstadt, as we want to find an institution in the United States or in Great Britain ready to cooperate with us and create a new version of the exhibition adapted for your country.
The exhibition was created in 2004 by the German author Hannelore Brenner in addition to her book The Girls of Room 28, first published in Germany in 2004. An English edition followed in 2009, published by Schocken Books, New York. Hannelore had allied with a group of survivors of Theresienstadt and Auschwitz several years before with the aim to help them tell their story and to create a lasting memory. On this website are more details; the documents mentioned in this letter you can find on the menue:
For very special reasons the exhibition came to life in a new design in Brazil. As Meninas do Quarto 28 opened on 22 May 2014 in the Săo Paulo in the Mube Museum. (...)
The story about how the exhibition came to Brazil, is a miraculous story of its own, best told by the initiator and performer of the exhibition As Meninas do Quarto 28 herself, the architect and designer Karen Zolko.
